Organic Solar Cells are one of the 3rd generation Solar Cells.Compared to silicon-based devices, polymer solar cells are lightweight, potentially disposable and inexpensive to fabricate, flexible and customizable on the molecular level. The studies with organic solar cells are relatively new and being actively researched by many universities and research laboratories. Toppare Research Group produces both p-and n-type dopable conjugated polymers in order to be efficiently used in OPVs. 2 PhD students are involved in this project supervised by Prof. Dr. Levent Toppare.
