Prof. Martin A. Green, the director of the Australian Centre for Advanced Photovoltaics (ACAP), visited ODTÜ and gave a lecture on silicon solar cell technologies from past to present in GÜNAM’s PV School 2016. Prof. Green also gave a speech titled as “Photovoltaics: Power Source for the Future” in 60th Anniversary Honorary Lecture Series in ODTÜ Cultural and Convention Center, 13th June 2016.

In the context of his speech, Martin Green remarked that the utilization rates from PV (photovoltaic) technology of solar energy will increase compared to the other renewable energy types and he showed relevant forecasts for the near future. Green also addressed the importance of this technology from the point of environmental sustainability and explained progressive R&D studies on today’s most widely-used cell type “silicon solar cells” as a historical journey.
