During and after the production, all solar cells are being tested, in optical and electrical characterization lab. For optical characterization;

  • Reflectance measurements (Diffuse&Specular)
  • Transmittance measurements
  • Photoconductivity measurements
  • Spectral response and QE measurements
  • Film thickness measurements
  • Raman Spectroscopy
  • Ellipsometric Measurements

can all be done by researchers, for wavelengths ranging from 100nm to 2μm.

Electrical Characterization

solar_simulatorCurrently, dark and illuminated I-V measurements of the solar cells up to 4” are carried by the solar simulator at AM1.5 condition. There are 2 different solar simulators in GUNAM labs. Main electrical characterization tools are:

  • Solar Simulators (4″ and 6″ illumination)
  • Life Time Testing
  • Electroluminescence
  • Thermal Imaging
  • Sheet Resistance Measurements
  • Hall Effect Measurement
